Kristi Moore

I want to update you regarding the progress my niece, Kristi Moore, has made this week.  Your prayers are being heard and answered.  Although the doctors still say this type of cancer in her spinal fluid is "incurable", we know that with God all things are possible and we (our whole family) are standing on His promises!
She has had a radiation treatment each day this week on the brain tumor which seems to have eased the pressure in her brain. Once the doctors were able to get her pain meds on the right schedule, Kristi has been somewhat stabilized, is feeling much better, and is able to function more normally. She was able to spend some time Tuesday and Wednesday with their children.  Lots of pictures were taken and the little boys loved rolling Mom around in her wheelchair. She was also able to make some phone calls and text friends and family the past couple of days.  Chad (her husband) said yesterday she was even able to walk (with the aid of her walker) down the hall to the elevator and walk outside to the hospital patio for some sunshine.  This was a major improvement.
Chad and Kristi had asked for, and have now received, a referral to the  M. D. Anderson cancer center in Houston for a second opinion.  They hope to get an appointment in the next week or so.
Thank you so much for praying for Kristi and her family.  As my sister, Cheryl, keeps saying, "Let's keep shouting her name into the gates of Heaven and praising God for His answers!"

All praise and glory to you, O God, King of the universe!

Please continue healing Kristi, dear Lord, so that her cancer will be gone and she will be a witness to the doctors and staff. Thank you for the good report thus far. In Jesus' name, amen.

 Dear Friends and Family,
I'm sorry I haven't written soon about this very serious time in our lives.  But the last week has been pretty overwhelming.
Most of you remember that our daughter-in-law, Kristi, has been battling breast cancer since last Easter.  Our son, Chad and our whole family has been on this roller-coaster journey together as we stand fast in the Lord through the hills and valleys.
To being you up to speed, around Christmas time Kristi was pronounced "in remission" as the final scan showed no signs of cancer.  She was feeling good, her hair had begun to grow back and it was wonderful seeing Kristi full of life again.
About 3-4 weeks ago the doctors wanted her to undergo outpatient surgery to remove her ovaries.  Since her type of cancer was estrogen driven, they wanted to be rid of anything producing estrogen.  Then they put her on a powerful estrogen suppressor that had many possible side effects.  But Kristi experienced none of them for about 3 weeks.  Then she began to have deep bone pain (one of the side effects) about 2 weeks ago that was excruciating.  She stopped the medication in hopes of stopping the pain.  Then she began to have severe headaches that made her throw up and cloud her vision.
I think it was last Tuesday she went for an MRI on her head/brain.  Wednesday morning the call came that there was a small tumor in her brain and they suspected cancer there.  Chad & Kristi came immediately to our house for prayer and to help them process.  While here she had a terrible attack and we called 911.  She has been in the hospital since then.
The doctors decided to take a spinal fluid sample to check it for other possibilities.  The sample was red instead of being clear and there were cancer cells in the fluid.  That was not the report we wanted to hear as this is very serious.  The doctors think that the fluid surrounding her brain is putting pressure on the brain that has caused tiny capillaries to break, thus the blood in the fluid.
Long story short, please pray with us for a miracle, for God to touch Kristi with his divine healing.  Pray for our son, Chad, and their four children ages 15, 13, 10 & 6.  Pray for us and for Kristi's family.  We are praying only LIFE into Kristi and standing on God's promises.

God Eternal, Maker of Heaven and Earth, glory, honor, and power are yours and yours alone, for there is no other God but you. I praise your holy name!

Lord, here is Kristi, a sister in the Lord with a husband and four children. They have been believing for healing from breast cancer, and so it seemed that she would be home free from that awful disease. And then came a even more devastating diagnosis, that her brain and her spinal fluid are infected with this killer. We know that only you can heal, and without you, no healing is possible, for you hold everything together by the word of your power. Lord, let your mighty word speak on behalf of Kristi, and let it restore her to health. In Jesus' name, amen.

I am again asking for your prayers for my niece, Kristi Moore, who is now being treated for brain cancer after being "cured" of breast cancer at the end of 2012.
Her brain cancer is being treated with heavy doses of steroids which keeps the brain inflammation under control.  However, a side effect is that the steriods can weaken both gastric and intentinal linings making them susceptible to ulcers and tears.  She had been doing well until yesterday when she began having stomach pain.  She was admitted to the hospital early this morning and a CT scan on her abdomen found signs of air and fluid indicating either a perforated ulcer or torn bowel.  Either one would be quite serious for obvious infection issues plus the pain. In a healthy person the doctors would treat with antibiotics for 2-3 days and let the body heal itself.  However the essential steriod treatments prevents the body from healing these kinds of wounds.  At first they planned to do emerency surgery to close the hole, but after conferring with several doctors, including her occologist, it was decided to go ahead and postpone the surgery until tomorrow to see if the body starts to heal itself. She is on three antibiotics plus an antacid and will have another CT scan tomorrow morning to see if the leak is still evident or if it appears to have closed.
In her husband, Chad's, words, "I think you know what to pray for...a holy inspired, whole closing of the hole!  Pray also against the spirit of despair and pray for Hope. Kristi is handling this with amazing aplomb and pluck.  The Father has given her peace.  Yes! Pray for a spirit of faith and life to permeate her room.  Father, we speak life, your life into Kristi's body.  Not just for a closing of the hole, but for a closing off of all disease in her body.  We rest in the finished work of Jesus to make all things new."

Lord, I join my prayers with Chad's, asking you for total healing for Kristi. I know that you heal, Lord. I know that you love Kristi. I'm asking you, please, to close up the hole that is causing her such pain and further endangering her health. Lord, as always, I pray that your will be done. In Jesus' name, amen.
